Four-time Grammy® Award-winning Producer and Recording Editor, Thomas C. Moore is a founding member and President of Five/Four Productions, Ltd.. Five/Four Productions is a full service independent audio production company that uses the latest technology and proprietary processes to create the world's most acclaimed recordings. Before co-founding Five/Four Productions, Moore served as Producer/Sr. Recording Editor for the world renowned Telarc International in Cleveland, Ohio. Moore started his career in the audio production world as a part-time recording editor, and quickly incorporated his expertise as a performing musician to become one of the most highly sought out Recording Producer and Editor. After only seven years at Telarc, Moore won two Grammy® Awards for producing the Atlanta Symphony's recording of Ralph Vaughan Williams A Sea Symphony, Best Classical Album and Best Choral Performance, 2003. That year Moore met David Balakrishnan, founder of the Turtle Island Quartet. That meeting resulted in a collaboration with the Ying Quartet for the recording of their project titled 4 + Four. That next year, Moore would be accepting another Grammy® Award for producing the Best Classical Crossover Album, 2005. In that same year Moore was also nominated as Producer of the Year by the Grammy® Awards, and was awarded Outstanding Producer of the Year by the OutMusic Awards held in New York City. Moore and the Turtle Island Quartet would again collaborate on a project in 2008 titled A Love Supreme which would win Moore his fourth Grammy® Award Moore has worked with the most distinguished ensembles and musicians including Atlanta Symphony, Boston Baroque, Berlin Philharmonic, The Cleveland Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Florida Orchestra, Zuill Bailey, Caroline Goulding, Christine Brewer, Paul Jacobs, Massimo La Rosa, Robert Spano, Grant Llewellyn, Martin Pearlman, Stefan Sanderling, and many more.
In addition to his work as a Producer and Recording Editor, Moore continues an active career as a professional oboist. Moore earned his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music. While at the Institute, his principal studies were with renowned teacher and former Cleveland Orchestra Principal Oboist John Mack. In 2007, Mr. Moore was awarded the Cleveland Institute of Music's Alumni Achievement Award. Prior to attending the Cleveland Institute, Mr. Moore received his high school diploma from the North Carolina School of the Arts with an emphasis on oboe performance. He has served as Principal Oboist with Red {an orchestra}, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Ohio Chamber Orchestra, Cleveland Opera Orchestra, Cleveland Ballet Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra. He has been invited to play with The Cleveland Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in New York City, and the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra. He has performed extensively throughout Europe where he served as Solo First Oboist of the first Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. While there he worked with conductors Leonard Bernstein and Sergiu Celibidache.
